So far, this project has shown participants how useful cycling can be as a means of transport, particularly to school and for family fun outings. It has also shown the benefits of cycling for health and as a means of commuter transport.

Not only will our area be continuing with promoting cycling but the project ideas and concept are being shared with other Polish Community groups in London. Initial response has been very positive and we are hoping to pass on best practise from our project to these groups.

The Cycling Project has engaged dozens of young boys, girls and their families in learning about the benefits of cycling and about how to cycle confidently in urban conditions. Though we started out on a small scale with a group of boys from the  Polish 7th Scout Troop (Wandsworth and Lambeth)  the popularity of the project has been such that we have extended the programme of playground  cycle training, off-road rides and on-road cycle training to a wider group of boys as well as girls from the local  Girl Guides troop.

A key element in the popularisation of the project has been the use of video to record both training and off-road activity. The videos are shown at local Polish events thus attracting new participants to cycling and to our cycling programme.
